KIT FITZGERALD creates live video-music performances that bring to video the immediacy and ensemble possibilities found in music and dance. Her work projects the touch of the hand into high technology, combining hand-drawn video painting, animation, and live editing.
She has developed much of this work with composer and performer Peter Gordon. Other collaborators have included composers Max Roach, Ryuichi Sakamoto; choreographers Donald Byrd, Bill T. Jones, and Yoshiko Chuma; poets Sekou Sundiata and Bob Holman, and theater companies The Talking Band, The Wooster Group, and Northern Netherlands Theatre.
